Reviewing procedure

  1. Our reviewing procedure conforms to the rules of the publication ethics, developed by the Comittee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
  2. The articles submitted to the Periodical Editorial Team shall first undergo a preliminary assessment of conformity with the formal requirements (Editorial guidelines for authors), as well as substantial and language quality requirements.
  3. The Periodical Editorial Team shall select reviewers with respect for their qualifications in terms of a given field of study – scientific papers are reviewed by academic researchers representing Polish and foreign universities and also by experts in a given area.
  4. Articles preliminarily accepted for publication shall be subject to two mandatory scientific reviews of external academic researchers, in accordance with the rule to avoid the conflict of interest between the author and the reviewer.
  5. The reviewer shall be entitled to a remuneration in the amount determined in each case by the Scientific Council, according to Ordinance No. 105/2015 of the Rector of the State University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz dated 30 December 2015.
  6. The review shall be prepared following the rules of the double-blind review process, in which both author and reviewers do not know their identity and there is no conflict of interest between them; the review shall be absolutely objective and based on reliable sources, it should be drawn up using the review form; the reviewing process is confidential.
  7. The reviewer may: accept the article for publication in the presented form, approve it conditionally (which shall entail the necessity to include corrections suggested by the reviewer) or reject the article as unacceptable for publication.
  8. The author is obliged to reply the Reviewer in a written form.
  9. In disputable or complicated cases, another reviewer may be appointed.
  10. The prerequisite for publication is the final positive assessment and the consent of the Editor in Chief.
  11. Once in a year, a list of all reviewers working in a given calendar year shall be published.
  12. All submitted articles and original reviews are archived in the documentation of the Periodical Editorial Team or the Scientific Publications Division of the State University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz.
